2010-Oct.31 Tricking - - John Shame on You

This goes to show that you are never too old to dress up for Halloween. John found a costume to dress up in and he his off to Cactus Canyon. Have fun, but watch out for all the little goblins running around out there, trying to fill their bags with candy.

I just thought I would show off some of the cutest little characters-even though, I didn't get to have any Trick-or-Treaters "way out here!"

So here goes, our little ghosts and goblins for this year!

John Thomas - the "Pimp" and at the club won 2nd place with a friend (male friend) dressed up as a "woman"!!!......

The following has a disclaimer.......ewwy! yuky! Joseph stayed at his friends house and this is what they came up with. I didn't see Elijah, but if he was anything like this. . . well, ewww!!

And, he was soooo grumpy, tired when he got home, school the next day, you know, since Halloween was on a "Sunday" this year. I think it should always be on a Friday or a Saturday, OR they could have NO school the next day! That would work -don't ya think!?!?

But, I guess people didn't mind - he brought home alot of goodies for us, mmmm, for him, I meant !

2010-Oct.31 Food, Food, And More Food

Well, I finished my first quilt, titled the "Dragonfly" quilt; and suddenly I got a BURST of energy. And being very hungry by now, I started cooking. I put a pot of water on the stove with onions that I quartered up, and garlic salt and put in chicken quarters. While that was cooking up, I got out some recipes and started cooking.

And Now! On my plate- Yum! Yum!

So we are set for a few meals that I made today.

And I also want to Thank Alta, my Mother-In-Law, for the GREAT zuchini/hamburger casserole that she made for me, oops, I meant for us. It was soooo good.

2010-Oct.31 This is no trick today- I FINISHED-YEAH!

My Friend, Dolores and I went back to our teacher, Jean, for our next step. This step is to pin..... I laid the backing on the floor, then tape it to the floor with blue painters tape, then lay the batting right on top of that and then lay the quilt top on top and pin it. I used 4 boxes of pins for this. I think this was tougher than cutting and sewing the blocks. It is very hard for me to get on the floor and it took me . . . . . . . "f-o-r-e-v-e-r" to pin and it was hot on the floor and people kept coming in to the store. A little girl had the nerve to step on my blanket. And I told her, "Excuse me! I am trying to make a quilt and you just stepped on it." She looked at me, then at my quilt and said, "Oh, I'm sorry." But it sounded like she really wasn't and she didn't understand why I said something to her. DUH! this is my 1st quilt, little girl!

My quilt rolled up in my bag. So now that I am at home, what to do, what to do!!

I am tying my quilt - this time anyway! I wanted to know how it was for my Grandmother and their Mothers. To do this by hand. But I didn't have a frame, I just laid it out on my table. I am so excited about getting this far on my quilt!

Next step - - the binding. I have bought material and will make my own binding.

OMG! I am done. Lookie, Lookie at what I did. . .

I see that quilters name their quilts....I will name this one...... "DragonFly".

And my next project will be . . . oops. . . it's a surprise. But I already bought the material. And this one will be a different kind of quilt than my 1st one. This is so exciting!
