Barber Shop Quartet-Friday Night Entertainment

The Barber Shop Quartet (plus a few)
Friday night, Jim's Big Burger hosted a Barber Shop Quartet at their restaurant. Well, it was outside. Of course, it rained so it was delayed for a bit. We really didn't know what to expect. They sang and we enjoyed the singing. They were really great. They even sang a song that Elvis re-wrote and sang. It was "Aura Lee" and Elvis named his re-make of this song, "Love Me Tender."

The middle picture shows a white haired man - they said he was 89 years old.

We all went - Me, Johnny & even Joseph, he sat and listened really good.

I would even go and listen to them the next time they perform.

Saturday Car Wash

We went to the Farmers Market today - held in the Health Dept parking lot on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I got a chocolate angel food cake. It is wonderful. Joseph picked out some corn and cucumbers and peaches. I also bought some chocolate mint for a Boy Scout group.
Then we went to Ramsey's to eat breakfast, then to Rogers Pharmacy to pickup 2 prescriptions, and then to Academy to buy snap/swivels to hang my windchimes.
When we got home Joseph asked to wash my car. No debate here.
He did a great job. And I have a clean car again. Thank you Joseph.

New Pet at our House

Well, we have acquired a new pet. This one is a bunny. Cute little bunny.

For this pet, I asked grandchildren and a nephews and nieces to send in a name for the bunny.

I got some very cute names from everyone. I know I took a long time to pick a name, but we finally had the drawing today to name bunny.

And the winning name is SHADOW. Damian submitted that name and Joseph wanted to enter that name too. So the name was entered twice.

Thanks to everyone that played the name game.

So now bunny will be called SHADOW.

Bryan & Family Moving to Corpus

Moving Day! is here, and I am not ready for this at all. But it happened and I have to find a way to deal with it.

On our way to Corpus, between Victoria & Refugio, the heavens opened up.

Why? is it, of course, it rains when you really wish it wouldn't. So their things got "a little" wet, shall we say.
Bryan and his family moving to CC, TX. Joseph rode in a truck with Bryan, Krystyn followed in their SUV with Jackson, and Johnny & I were in another truck pulling a trailer.

Maybe you could say, it sort of reminded me of The Beverly Hillbillies, & I say that in a very affectionate way. I don't mean anything bad by that. It just struck me little funny.
WE, I really mean Johnny & Bryan, worked hard loading in Victoria.

Then in Corpus, Krystyn's dad met us at their apartment to help us unload them. And while we were waiting for Bryan & Krystyn to sign apt. papers. . . . . . . well, hmmm. . . looks like, ummm...

Jackson walked the "Grandpas" around a little to keep "them" occupied. Thank you, Jackson.

Then unloading in Corpus, I did help there & Joseph too! walking up & down, & up & down those stairs, sweating like pigs. The weather was great while we were unloading.

The rain stayed away while we unloaded & not until driving away from their apt that the clouds opened up and the rain poured out of the sky.

Jackson is relaxing on his window sill in his room. I helped Jackson put his "Hotdog" adhesives on his window. "Hotdog" is what he calls Mickey Mouse.

Joseph helped us tremendously with taking boxes up to the apt. and for his reward Bryan took him down to the pool so he could swim a little and play in the water. It's really nice around the pool, so Jackson & I relaxed a little too. We walked down to sit by the pool and try to recover from carrying ALL those boxes up a flight of stairs to their 2nd floor apt.

On the way back home, I drove 1 of the trucks following Johnny in the truck with a trailer. I could barely see him, I could barely see the lane in which to drive in. The rain came down so hard that it was hard to tell where the white lines were. When we got to Refugio, Johnny stopped in a parking lot and had a "revelation". He was able to load the truck that I was driving up on trailer that he was pulling, so I wouldn't have to drive the rest of the way. I was getting so sleepy. I was so happy that I didn't have to drive any longer. Jackson came home with us and did so great on the way home. Joseph was a great help with Jackson too. He talked with him, & kept him occupied in the truck.

Well, I wanted to remember this move and wanted Bryan & Krystyn to remember this move too. So look below for this remembrance photo.

OH, I wanted to show you the picture that I had a chance to snap of the truck that Bryan was driving to CC, so that they will always remember this move.

Jackson came home with us that Saturday night. He slept good at Nana & Pa's house, like he always does.

The next day he was swinging,

Then Jackson played "Pat-A-Cake" with Pa

and . . . . he played with trains

and he rode the 4-wheeler

AND, Wow! we even had time for a wrestling match between Jackson & Joseph. Hmmm! Can you tell who won that round!?!?!

Bryan & Krystyn came in on Sunday. Bryan had to work 1 last week in Victoria before starting in Corpus. So they all stayed in Victoria & went home to Corpus over the weekend.

He will start work on Tuesday, May 26th after Memorial Day weekend.
