Meteor Shower Watch

AUGUST 2009 Perseid


We have been watching the skies for the meteor shower that is happening. It's a great thing that's going on in the beautiful heavens. If you haven't seen it yet, you have to go outside and take a look. We have seen about 10 - 15 and that was around 10:30 pm - 11:00 pm.


Perseids meteors have been streaking through the sky. Our news said you may be able to see 20-30 meteors per hour. But some of the on-line web searches say up to 100, but I am not sure where that is happening. But that is between 12 midnight and 4 am. So you can bet I won't be seeing to many.

I remember when our children were small & we heard of a meteor shower happening. We put them in the car & drove way out on Salem Road. (Back then that was out in the country-not anymore). Anyway, the road was lined with

SUMMER-TOO HOTTTT

Wow, I haven't posted in a while...


I had a birthday, (another birthday) - I guess that is a good thing.
It was very uneventful. My co-workers bought me breakfast & then later got me a cake,
which was very nice & tasty too. I have a picture on my camera on my phone, but still haven't figured out how to get it to my computer - hehe! Then Johnny & John Thomas & I went to a new Italian Rest. - yuk!! won't go back ever..... I should have went with my 1st choice-Red Lobster.

HAPPY VACATION - JOSEPH

The biggest thing that has happened lately is that I agreed to let Joseph go on a trip with our dear neighbors . . . . to Branson, Missouri. WOW! That's a major thing. He was ecstatic when I told him he could go. "Are you sure, are you kidding me?" was his response. Well, they left on Saturday, Aug 8th, early, early in the morning. He spent the night with them so that they could get an early start. Joseph calls every day. He has so many exciting things to tell us. I bought him 3 disposable cameras to take with him. So I can't wait to see what he has taken. They will be back on Friday or Saturday. To check out what happens in Branson, Missouri check out this website - - http://www.branson.com/ . Jackson's parents opted to have the party here in Victoria, so we had a birthday party for Jackson- his 2nd B.D.- out at our house. It was soooo hot. But the little ones were cool. We had gotten a couple of slip n slides, pools, and water sprinkler toy for them to run and play in.

HAPPY CHARTER FISHING - JOHNNY & BRYAN
Johnny drove to Corpus early Sunday morning to meet Bryan & Discount Tire folks. DTC hosted the event for employees and families with a charter boat fishing event OUT IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. Johnny brought home these Red Fish-his limit. But caught lots more-those were given to the ones that got sick & didn't catch anything. Johnny cleaned these to freeze, but of course we had to try them out. So he fixed some for us that night. Yum! Yum! Delicious-thanks Johnny.
