2010-Jun.23 Schlitterbahn WaterPark

John Thomas, Joseph, Letti (John's friend) and her 9 yr.old son are going to Schlitterbahn this morning. I hope he keeps that sun screen on Joseph. I was telling John & Joseph all my "Rules", you know-do's and don'ts- as far as don't leave Joseph alone - on his own- and walk off-even for a second. Too many things can happen in that second. Well, Joseph then asked me, " So I guess I am 4 years old again?" and I told him, "Well, I guess so!" Have fun and be careful. Not sure if they are taking pictures, well see!

Nope, no pictures and they didn't get home until around 11 pm. Well, we were asleep when they got home, so really not sure.

The next day though, Joseph said he had a great time with his Uncle John. Thank you to

Uncle John and his friend Letti (which by the way, was Joseph's kindergarten assistant to the teacher, at F.W. Gross).

2010-Mar.7 Joseph's Chickens PayOff

Joseph delivered his chickens to the buyers today. Of course, we drove him. (haha!) Joseph brought his buyers a fruit tray and "Thank-you" card.

We barely got back in the truck when Joseph was asking when we can take him to the store. He wants to get an X-Box. We'll see!

2010-Mar.01 AUCTION DAY

Well, Auction Day is here! We are all excited too!
Joseph is dressed and ready to show his chickens.
It's 4 p.m. now. We are at the Community Center Dome.
But first, we wait and wait and wait some more.
We get the papers with the . . . . . .
"Disposition of Animals Sold at auction"
There are 13 pages and we are on . . . . . .
page 1 and Joseph is # 212. And did I mention it's about 4 p.m.

Okay, it has started now 5 p.m.
It's now 5:35 p.m. and we are on # 14 - 1/2 down the page.
Page 2 - # 42 6:15 p.m.
Page 7 -almost at the bottom # 150 - 8:10 p.m. and 3 pages to go.
WooHoo! page 9 8:50 p.m. # 191 - we are getting closer and
Johnny has gone to the back with Joseph to get ready. (I just hope
that chicken is still breathing...)
OMG! 9:15 p.m. and they announce
# 212 Joseph Richardson with his 13th place broiler. OMG!
I can't stand it. . . hurry up people, start hollering those $$$.

Yeah! Joseph got $ 600, then 650, then 700, anybody for 750.

Rats!! no other takers. But we will take it.

SOLD to Leita Farms for $ 700. THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU!!

That will go in a savings account for Joseph - for college. - RIght !?!? Joseph!!
We're done. We stuck around for about 20 more. Johnny went to
get the information that we need to get in touch with our buyers.
But not tonight!!
It's 10:00 p.m. and we are headed home.

Now, go home, go to bed and start thinking about next years animals.

2010-Feb.25 1st Baseball Practice

Monday, Feb 22 - We had a parent/player meeting
We learned some important information and since the coach was talking about some things I didn't understand, I had to ask, I don't think the kids liked me very much. The coach asked all the kids to demonstrate. I didn't get pics this time, but I will the next time they do them. They are: lunges and monkeys.

3. There are 13 kids on this team
4. What to wear/bring to practice
5. Opening ceremony is March , 2010
6. Practices will be 4 times a week-Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri
7. Practices begin at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 25

Joseph had his 1st baseball practice today, Feb. 25th & 26th

We were able to get away from the Stock Show on Thursday & Friday, so that Joseph could make his practices this week.

I'll post the schedule as soon as I get it. Try to come out and watch some of the games.

2010-Feb.23 Getting Ready for Baseball

We took Joseph to Academy this evening to pick up some baseball items, and practice uniform, new glove (for catching), new gloves (for hitting) cap, and umm, umm, "protection gear" - if ya know what I mean. We had already picked up the cleats over the weekend-so we had that out of the way. Now, I am just hoping that Coach J.C. tells the boys that they ALL need a nice clean hair cut. Maybe then Joseph will let me take him to the barber.
(But that's just a dream of mine.)





We got the gray pants for practice because they said that we will have white pants with 1 wide navy stripe down the side of the leg. And of course, Joseph had to have this shirt-"Longhorn colors" he said.
It was so nice that Joseph had gotten a gift card to Academy at Christmas - That came in so handy now! And when Uncle John got home - he pitched in some bucks to help us out.
Thank You Uncle John.
OMG! we forgot the socks. Another trip to Academy for that!


I'm tired already and practice hasn't even started. That starts Thursday, but we will miss that one if Joseph makes the Live Stock Show (And Friday too!) But Coach J.C. knows and he has excused him for these days.

Something we are definitely going to miss around here after this weekend. Bryan, Krystyn, Jackson and Parker will be moving to their own place. They will be in a mobile home. A nice fenced backyard for Jackson to play outside with a swing. Jackson & Parker each with their own room. I'm missing you already- Love you too much - - "Lu Lu Lu" means, "I love you."

OH NO! We found one of the baby Chicks that didn't make it. Maybe it was the trauma of it all. But now we are down to 49 chicks. We'll have to wait and see how many make it through this cold,rainy weather.

We are supposed to have some really bad weather coming in the next couple of days. Lots of rain, they say there may even be flooding in our area and Hail too!

2010-Jan.11 We're Ready for the Chickens

Our New Neighbors - for a while anyway!

Bryan, Krystyn, Jackson & Parker will be moving into

their own place soon-this week or next week. Oh, my.. it's gonna

be so quiet here, none of us will know what to do.

But we won't be lonely for very long. We are getting

"new boarders". They will have their very own house though.

Bryan and Krystyn- hope y'all aren't too jealous about this.

Johnny will be picking them up - all 50 of them -

on Wednesday, Jan. 13th. I guess we're ready for them.

Oh Yea! I will be having surgery on Friday,15th on my Left shoulder-I have a small tear on my Rotator cuff. Not looking forward to this at all-I tried to prevent this by going to Physical Therapy, then I tried steriod shots-several of them - they wouldn't give me anymore. So now!-surgery! YUK! Johnny will be a busy man on Friday.

He is going to take me to have the surgery, then will "drop me off" and then go help Bryan move, IF, that is, it's not raining like the weather channel is predicting. Maybe by Saturday it will blow through. OR, maybe it won't get here until Saturday. Only time will tell.

Hope you stay dry where ever you may be. I know I will be stuck in the house - recuperating.

Beginning of another school year for "Mr. Cool"

Well, here it is ....finally! School bells ringing once again. Joseph was really excited about going back school. In fact, he says that he wishes that school was year 'round. He liked going to F.W. Gross, which was a year 'round school when he was there - Pre-K thru 3rd, but they were changing to traditional school the year we were moving to Mission Valley.

Joseph likes school which makes it easier for me. He rides the bus to school in the morning and in the evening stays at school under the care of the YMCA until I pick him up. Well, either me or Janet - our neighbor and good friend. Her son, Bobby, and Joseph hang out. So we help each other out picking up kids, watching them when one of us needs some help or needs to run errands, etc. It's wonderful to have someone that you know you can depend on or know they will help if the need arises.

WYNONNA concert July 25th Saturday

Opening for WYNONNA was "Carolyn Wonderland"

She was good too!

The lights hanging from the ceiling each had these colorful flowers painted on each one. Each light fixture had different flowers painted on them. I just took pictures of 2. I needed the room for pictures of WYNONNA!

This was before the concert even started and we were having fun already.

Notice noone else in seat next to us- we were kinda early.

WOW! WYNONNA!!, it was a great show. She didn't sing many of her traditional songs though. She sang some blues, "Hunk of Burning love" by you know who!, a Tammy Wynette song, - She was feeling a little "thankful" for her 25 years in the business - & was wanting everyone to feel thankful for their good fortune and where they were at -at this time in their lives. WOW!

She even let 1 girl who yelled out, "I wanna sing with you, Wynonna." she let her come up on stage & sing a song with her. The 1 that starts, "Momma, I found someone...."

And the girl could actually sing. Even Wynonna said, "Thank God she really could sing, I was kinda worried."

Here is the girl singing, just in case she makes it big, I can say "I saw her when ..." hehe

Didn't get her name though, oh well!
