2010-Jan.22 CHICKEN WATCH CONTINUES

The Chickens continue to grow and eat and grow and eat, etc....

We have lost a total of 20 baby chicks so far. And it looks like that one of the baby chicks has a broken leg. What do we do with that one? Is he suffering?. . . .

Also, Joseph had some friends stay over on Friday night. So there were (3) three boys here. They dressed up and went outside to "shoot" each other with their Air Soft guns.

"OWWWWW" and they do hurt. I know. 'Cuz Johnny shot me with one when Joseph first got one. I was walking up to the house and Johnny thought he would see how much it would hurt me. AND GUESS WHAT? It did hurt. I had a whelp and a big bruise on the back of my thigh for a week.

The boys each had bruises on them from their "games" too.

2010-Jan.18 Monday

Day 6 of our "Chicken" Project. And 3 more baby chicks are gone. We are down to 39 baby chicks now. But the ones that are surviving seem to be doing well. There are still some that don't look like they will make it though.

2010-Jan.14 thru 17th CHICKEN WATCH

Days 2 thru 5 - watching them grow a little each day.

Jan 14th-Thursday--Another chick is gone

Jan.15th-Friday-One more chick gone

Jan.16th-Saturday-Dropping like flies - 3 more chicks didn't make it.

Well, we have been told to expect this, but it's not easy on Joseph. He takes it hard, and he gets frustrated. I haven't been out there since my surgery, but Johnny says that most of them are growing and pretty fast. I'll try to go out tomorrow and take a look see.
