2010-Nov.25 Thanksgiving Celebrations with Family

To GrandMother's house we go. . . . . . that is Grandmother to Johnny, Great-Grandmother to John Thomas, and that is Great-Great GrandMother to Joseph. Yes, we are talking about Nannaw. Still going strong. Wow! still making Thanksgiving Dinner for her family. Along with her friend Mr. Wilson - Norvell, dinner was great too. We spent quality time with our family that came in from Austin. Connie and her family drove down for a visit. Connie, I should say my friend for life, because she was the "First Responder" all those years ago when Kendra had her "accident" at camp and almost drowned! I don't like to think about it, but I should give Thanks everyday that everything turned out okay and My Kendra was spared and given back to us.

It was a great day to spend it with family-meeting cousins and seeing a cousin again, but it was a sad day too, not to spend it with "all" my children and grands too. Maybe next time-hopefully next time!

2010-Nov.23 Getting Ready for Turkey Day

I took off work today-the day before Thanksgiving, so I will be home five (5) straight days. WOW!

Trying to get ready for the upcoming Holidays.
We (Johnny, Me, Joseph and John Thomas) will be celebrating this year at Johnny's Grandmother's house-Nannaw. Alta, My Mother-In-Law will be with us and also, some cousins from out-of-town will also be there.

So I thought I start on decorating. I thought I would make a wreath for my bedroom door. I am
not quite through with it.

I even tried making the bow for it. And I was so excited that I was able to make that bow myself.

Gayle, Steven, Sarah, Emily & Michael came for a visit on Friday. They stopped by after their visit to see Dad (Grandpa) at the nursing home. The kids ran around playing, stopping just a little to feed "Boo" the Donkey some carrots. Gayle & I took a stroll up the driveway to the road and back up the road to the house. It was really a great visit. Very enjoyable day. I am so glad they wanted to come by our home for a visit. Gayle & the kids have been here in our home several times after the completion, but this was Steven's 1st visit since we finished our home. He had been here when we were in the process of building.

Thank God for all of the Blessings in my life. We had a Great Thanksgiving with Family, Fun, & Food. Way too much food too! And this was our first Thanksgiving in our home since we finished building.

The weather was great today, so that we could eat outside, sit out on the front porch, walk down to the lake. We all ended up on the front porch. Some even laid out on the hammock and the floating chair under the trees.

After everyone went on their way, Johnny, Joseph & I walked to our neighbors, Wade & Melinda Stockton, and Mary & Marshall were there too!, to tell them Happy Thanksgiving, but of course, to walk off our big lunch too!! We stayed and visited awhile before making our way back to the ol' homestead. And then we could go back and eat some more yummy food. hehehe! Alta brought that great cold salad that I love so much, oh my it was great, and the best part, she left alot of it here so I get to have it everyday until I finish it. Thank you so much Alta! And to everyone - all the dishes were great. Thanks to everyone!!

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!

Yeah! 5 days off! Wednesday thru Sunday - - This is great! I'm not gonna want to go back to work on Monday, it will be hard, that's for sure.
Now the shopping starts for Christmas and getting what the grandchildren want for Christmas.
