2011-Sep.17 OMG! Movie Date

MOVIE NIGHT!!??!! Oh WOW, I just can't believe it; Johnny and I taking Joseph and his "friend" to the movies.

It made me a little excited, and sad, too . . . for words, Joseph! he's only 13! She is so cute too.  They saw some movie, I think, it was called, "Shark Night", and probably too scary for me.  Emily likes scary movies.
I took Joseph to Emily's house and met her Mom. It's such a small world - I had been commenting on FB about "you know you're from Victoria when...." very nice people.  Growing up is hard, but who is it harder on? The kids or the parents? Toss Up!

Drive-In Movie Time-"Harry Potter"

Friday Night - was movie night - but we went to a Drive-in movie.

The drive-in is in Shiner-an hour away from us. It rained "cats and dogs" on us while driving there. Joseph took a friend (that was staying the night with us). You know the outdoor drive-in from yester-year! We saw the movie- "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince". We took chairs and the boys sat outside the car under the stars.

It is a nostalgic thing for me. Remembering how we would go to the drive-in with Mom & Dad. Mom would make popcorn balls, and we would also take mosquito coils and light them up in the car. We would go to the concession stand for a coke, and also get to swing while waiting for the others to go to the bathroom.

Intermission time (reel changes) they call out about 6 ticket #'s and if it is yours, YOU WIN. You win a coke or an ice cream or nachos or popcorn. The last time we went we had won a pizza - a whole pizza. WOW! This time we had 2 of the #'s. We got an ice cream and a popcorn.

We didn't stay for the 2nd movie -which I did want to see-it was "My Sister's Keeper". But it was midnight and we had to drive 1 hour home.

The boys were asleep before we got out of Shiner. So we had a quiet drive home.

Everyone needs to experience a movie at an outdoor theatre - -the drive-in theatre.
