2010-Apr.10 Update On My Friend Dixie

I found out that my friend Dixie, has 3 spots on her brain. 3 aneurysms. OMG!

And today they will be doing an angioplasty to try to correct these.



This evening I heard that Dixie is out of surgery and doing well, BUT, the doctor was only able to correct 2 aneursysms with the angioplasty. Monday morning, April 12th Dixie goes back to surgery. This is major. Oh NO! Brain Surgery. Who would have "thunk it".? This is unbelievable. I just can't believe. I am having a hard time letting this sink in.

THE USS LEXINGTON

ROAD TRIP!!!!
Yes, Corpus Christi was the destination today. Johnny and I took Joseph and his friend Tyler and Jacquelyn to the USS Lexington.

Up the stairs, down the stairs, walk, walk, walk, Up the stairs down the stairs,- well, you get the point. But, really it was a great day and I enjoyed the all 4 tours on the ship.

Ah! man...we can't go anywhere without running into someone we know! On the way up to Corpus, I had asked Johnny about his friend Kenny and how he was doing. Well, who in the heck did I run into !?!? yep! you guessed it - Kenny. WOW!

The Flight simulator-wow! I loved it, but I couldn't get my "Land legs" back as quick as I would have liked. but it was really neat. You gotta try it. I even got Jacquelyn in there too! She did hold on tight to me.

Okay, time to go, I am soooo pooped! glad I wore tennis shoes.

This was a worthwhile trip to take, I will tell everyone to go to the

USS Lexington, but go when it's cool. It was a great day today and I was "sweating up a storm" when you go below.

I hope Joseph, Jacquelyn and Tyler enjoyed the history that was all around us. I know I did.

2010-Apr. 09 Baseball Last Night-Game # 3

Our 3rd game, it's Thursday and we played Waldens, it didn't go so well.

The guys played okay , but it still wasn't good enough. Practice, practice, practice.

2010-APR.9th PRAYER REQUEST PLEASE

Please pray for Dixie - she is a co-worker and a friend of mine. She is going through a difficult time right now. She began having headaches and went to our employees' health clinic to see the nurse practitioner. Thank God that she sent her to the hospital for a C-T scan and then an MRI. They found some places on the back of her head. They say it is an aneurysm - 2 of them. The hospital sent her immediately to Houston. They were waiting for her at the entrance when the ambulance pulled up to the hospital. Yesterday, doctors there did an angiography
(Angiography or arteriography is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside, or lumen, of blood vessels and organs of the body, with particular interest in the arteries...)

and an angioplasty.

(Angioplasty with or without vascular stenting is a minimally invasive procedure performed to improve blood flow in the body's arteries and veins....)

They could only fix 1 of them, and found that there is 2 more.

She will be having brain surgery in the next couple of days. Please pray for her and her family and her doctors / nurses. I found this prayer on-line today for everyone to say.

YEAH! Our fruit trees are blooming. I'm so excited. Oh, I hope this continues. Cross your fingers, because my fingers are not GREEN and neither is my THUMB.

2010-Apr.4 EASTER CELEBRATION

Fun, Food, Family & Easter Celebration

Happy Easter everyone!! It was a wonderful, beautiful day.

Jesus Is Risen! Halleluiah!!
Bryan & Krystyn hosted this year's celebration at their home. Johnny is on a shut-down for work and woke up early to go with us. John Thomas drove me & Joseph. Others that came out were MawMaw (Alta), Susan and Gaylan (co-worker/friend of Bryan's). Kendra, Joe & Jacquelyn didn't make it to the celebration - they have been sick. Hope you all feel better soon.
We missed you.

There was so much food - Bryan fried up some fish (catfish & tilapia), shrimp, french fries, onion rings, & hush puppies. Susan made a fruit dip-yummy! with strawberries, mango and blackberries. There was a corn casserole, coleslaw. Then mini cupcakes (that Jackson would eat the icing off of) and we also brought an Oreo cookie/Ice Cream dessert .
