2011-Mar.17 OMG-An Example of a Real Christian

Since my surgery and the disaster that came after it, Johnny needed some help of his own. He was working a "shutdown" and on top of that they wanted Johnny working on nights. So he needed help taking Joseph to baseball practice, and picking him up after practice. Johnny asked "T's Dad - "J", without hesitation he said he would help us out-no problem. That is just (1) one example that my family and I have encountered.
Another example: When "T" went to his mom's over spring break, we needed someone to help with Joseph and getting him to and from practice. So Johnny turned for another team mate of Joseph and his mom. "Mrs. G" without hesitation agreed to help us out when Johnny told her our predicament. Today, Thursday when "Mrs. G" came to pick up Joseph, she came in to the house. I was so embarrassed, my house was a mess, but clean in "guy" standards. This is the first time that I have talked to her and 1st time to meet her. SHE BROUGHT US DINNER.Yes, a whole meal, spaghetti with parmesan cheese on top, broccoli with cheese, and crescent dinner rolls.
OMG! If this isn't 2 great examples of being Christian, I don't know what is! These people didn't hesitate to help us out, when my surgery didn't go so well, and I am having a longer than normal recovery.
I sure hope when someone is in need of help - however big or small, I will be able to step up to the plate and "Pass It On!"
And I hope this will be a reminder to all reading this, what we all need to do to help out our family and friends, and by this 2nd example, she didn't really even know us, and she "Mrs. G" helped out above and beyond. That is so great! I will strive with all my being to keep her helpfulness in my mind and help someone in need.

THANK YOU SO MUCH "J" AND "MRS. G" YOU ARE . . . . . . GOOD CHRISTIAN PEOPLE.

And great examples for all us to follow.

2011-Mar.3 Surgery Day/2 Admissions/14+days of Pain

I was so excited about having this surgery and a little nervous too! I guess I "jinxed" myself. I went home the next day-Thursday-but was back in the hospital, in the ER on Friday. The Er Dr. said, "I'm sorry to have to tell you this, and you won't have to have dialysis right away, but you're kidneys are failing." "WHAT?" We explained that I had just had surgery and we even told them what was going on. They insisted that I have a CT scan, and even after telling me that I had a "knick" in my bladder, still they were saying that my kidneys were failings. They admitted me and said a surgeon would be in soon to talk to us about the next step. In my room, a doctor came in, but said there would be no surgery, and that my bladder got to full and burst a stitch and everything then went into my belly. They drained over 2-liters out of my belly. I felt a little better, but there I go again, an IV- I am already a pin chushion, and then every 2-4 hours someone else came in for blood, antibiotics, more fluids, etc. This stay was for 3 days.
It was very traumatic and I was so depressed and my anxiety level was through the roof. I even told Johnny to go home, so I could be alone. I wasn't trying to be mean, but I really needed to be left alone - with all my tubes and IV's and everything else that was connected to me.

Bryan had called on Saturday evening and said he was gonna stop by...and I told him no, that I didn't want anyone here! He came anyway, he never did listen very well. But I am glad he did, he did cheer me up some. I finally got to go home on Sunday evening. It was good to be home, but the whole week was not a good one at all. I really don't even remember most of it, but I do remember all the pain. I couldn't get comfortable at all. On Monday, March 14th, I had to go back to the hospital to have an X-ray Cystogram, not painful but uncomfortable. I went back to work Monday too, but only for half days, which is almost too long, but bearable and I get home and crash for a couple of hours. I haven't been sleeping much, so when I went to the doctor today, Thursday, March 17th, my doctor prescribed me "grown up" sleeping pills. Yeah! I can't wait to try them. I had told her I was trying warm milk and a benydryl. Well, it's almost the weekend and I am so ready for doing absolutely nothing. I am sure that everyday, I have a little bit more of my strength back. But this sure did kick my *&$# rear, that's for sure.
Flowers from my sister, Gayle and her family - Steven, Sarah, Emily and Michael
