Sunday Neighbors Visiting July 26th

Our neighbors stopped by this morning, but we almost missed them!

Since we had such a late night after driving home from the Houston concert - WYNONNA!!

We slept late, really late, we woke up about 11. We got up slowly, I sat down in my glider rocker, put my feet on the glider ottoman, then Johnny slowly walked in the living room, looked out the front window and said, "Look at the deer!" There were 9 deer in the front yard. A momma and her baby were...umm... standing in the pool of water that we put out for them. It was neat, they were cooling off, I guess. I snapped a few pictures, before they were spooked by something and fled into our "shady dell" that they stay in. Their safe haven.

The whole herd ran down our driveway and turned left into the shady dell for their afternoon resting spots. Keep cool little ones. I will put clean, cool water in the pools for your next visit.

WYNONNA concert July 25th Saturday

WYNONNA at the Arena Houston Theatre

Opening for WYNONNA was "Carolyn Wonderland"

She was good too!

The lights hanging from the ceiling each had these colorful flowers painted on each one. Each light fixture had different flowers painted on them. I just took pictures of 2. I needed the room for pictures of WYNONNA!

This was before the concert even started and we were having fun already.

Notice noone else in seat next to us- we were kinda early.

& WE are having fun!!
WOW! WYNONNA!!, it was a great show. She didn't sing many of her traditional songs though. She sang some blues, "Hunk of Burning love" by you know who!, a Tammy Wynette song, - She was feeling a little "thankful" for her 25 years in the business - & was wanting everyone to feel thankful for their good fortune and where they were at -at this time in their lives. WOW!

She even let 1 girl who yelled out, "I wanna sing with you, Wynonna." she let her come up on stage & sing a song with her. The 1 that starts, "Momma, I found someone...."

And the girl could actually sing. Even Wynonna said, "Thank God she really could sing, I was kinda worried."

Here is the girl singing, just in case she makes it big, I can say "I saw her when ..." hehe

Didn't get her name though, oh well!

Horseman's Club Arena Rodeo held on July 24th Friday Night

I also got tickets to the Rodeo here. That was fun, but I have no pictures just yet. Since it was so last minute, I didn't have my camera-just my phone camera. BUT, I don't have the attachment yet to download them. Or whatever I need to do to transfer the pictures. I will go to AT &T on Monday to find that out.
The rodeo was great! The rodeo clown called on some of the kids to help out with a skit. Joseph went to help out and had a blast. Something about grabbing something from the clown and then the clown chasing the kids with his "pet" skunk. The clown assured the kids that the skunk could not spray them before all this happened. Pee Eww!!
Joseph also got to enter the calf scramble. (this is where you try to grab the ribbon off of the calf's tail.) He didn't get a ribbon but he ran his little heart out.
There was some very close calls on the bronc busting. Several times the clowns had to step in and they actually got nudged along from the bull - to help save the cowboys. Too close for me!! that's for sure.
And this was really a great time too. Although the breeze could have been blowing just a touch more than it was.
