2010-Apr.17 Joseph's Prize for his Hard Work

We went ahead and let Joseph spend some of his money that he received for raising his 4-H Chickens. I tried to talk him into a Wii, but he wasn't havin' any.
Oh well, I tried. He just wasn't going to let us have any peace until we gave in.
(FYI - added 2 weeks later, Joseph told me, "Nana, I should have gotten a Wii." I can't believe he admitted that to me. I just told him, "Didn't I tell ya, I tried to, but you didn't listen."
Maybe next time, HE WILL. And that's a big MAYBE!

2010-Apr.17 What the Hey!?

Ken L. our Assistant Director and long-time co-worker of Dixie, is going up to Houston today to pick her up. I mean to pick her and her Mother - Sue - to bring her home.
OMG!
Monday - Brain Surgery !
Saturday - Home!
That isn't even 1 whole week! What in the world are they thinking?
We are glad you are coming home, BUT - a week! WOW!

Now you have to really take care, keep people away from those stitches in your head.
We are still sending all our love and prayers to you and your family.

Joseph gets the hit!

Joseph-ran to 3rd. . . .

And then slid in home
Yes, you got it! It's Joseph!

He had a base hit, and 1 player ran home. Then! Joseph stole 2nd, another player swung, again stole 3rd, another hit from another player and WHAM! BAM! THEN Joseph STOLE HOME! WOW! I should say he slide home. I am still soaking his uniform. I was biting my nails the whole way. The game was great. Our guys played great!

Joseph and his team played a team that had some of the guys from school on it. So it was a bitter - sweet victory for Joseph. This team has not won a game yet. They seemed to practice great, but when it came to the game, they fell a little short.

Great Game guys! This was the 1st game that Johnny got to see and it sure was a good one - even John Thomas came to see the game.

The game was called when our team was ahead - 12 -2! That's the rule. 6 innings / 2 hours / or 9 or more point difference.

2010-Apr. 12 Brain Surgery

Dixie had Brain surgery today! OMG! I just can't believe it.


They had to get the aneurysms that they couldn't get with the angioplasty on Saturday.
They shaved her hair, but what is silly is that they didn't shave it all. What's with that. Dixie told them to shave it all, and they didn't. So now she has long hair in the back and a shaved head in front. She can fix that when she gets home.

Dixie - we are so happy that all is well.

Your doctors are great and Thank God that you will be on your way to a complete recovery. They say she is swollen and her eyes and face are swollen. That's okay, we are just glad that they were able to "git r done". Recovery time - they say probably 3 months until she can return to work.

A couple of co-workers will be heading up there - to Houston - where she was transported. We all signed a banner for her.
I thought I would add a diagram of where her stitches are. I know this is a crude picture, but it gives you somewhat of an idea of where they operated on her.
