A committee of 4-H members, adults and a couple of kids showing chickens, came to the house to show/teach Joseph how he will have to handle/hold the chickens for judging. OMG! I didn't realize so much you need to know when showing chickens. The group helped Johnny pick out 3 chickens to show and 1 alternate and we set aside an alternate for the alternate. Joseph was told he will have to hold his chicken for as long as 30 - 45 minutes for the judging. We were also told he has to have other kids that are competing in any other event for 4-H or FFA to help him with the chickens. That is, if he gets to that level in the competion.
